Oh Hai There,

So guys i have another assignment to tell you about, Professional Practice. Since doing so well in achieving all the grades in the last assignment i was so excited for this one. We were told about how graphic designers in the industry nowadays use social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter to advertise themselves along with Blogs. I set up a Twitter and Facebook account nearly immediately. I was told that i could use it for the clothes company i was setting up so if you guys are on Facebook or Twitter make sure to pop by and give us a like or a follow Facebook.com/LickApparel & @TheLickApparel. I am extremely active on both of them sites.

Part of this assignment was to do a mock interview with a company named Snap. I thought it was a great opportunity to be able to talk about a subject that i love so much, Graphic Design. It also gave me a good insight into the way graphic design interviews are conducted.

We had to design a Graphic Design CV as well which i found fun to do since it is a bit different from your regular Word document type up CV. I found it quiet difficult to fit all my information on to two pages but i think it came out nice. Because there is a lot of personal information on my CV i can't post pictures of what it looks like but maybe later on i can do up some example Graphic Design template for you guys.

Anyways I'm off.

Catch up with you all soon.

Mark

Oh Hai There,

Back again with some more of my recent work. I have to say i really enjoyed working on this assignment. It was for our Corporate Identity class. We had to research a lot of background information to do with big corporations and their logos. Symbolism was a big part of this assignment because a company's logo is what is used to sum up the company in one image. We also had to see what the company associated itself with in order to portray a certain image to the public. It was very interesting. Here are some of the examples of my findings.

Oh Hai There,

I would like to show you some of my recent work to do with my Web Design class.

My Splash Page.
 My Home Page.
 My About Us Page.
 My 'Music' Page.
 My 'Producers' Page.
 My Contact Us Page.

This assignment was a follow up assignment to do with our last web design and it had to be in relation to media. So i chose music and producers. It was fun using Dreamweaver for the 1st time and being able to develop my website even further gave me a broader look at web design itself. Working with raw html has its limitations and could take so much longer to finish pages and websites but with Dreamweaver it makes it so much easier and more enjoyable. You can go in and customize the html but also have a view of what your website looks like. Linking pages, videos, music and pictures is a lot easier and better sourced. I can't wait to use some of my Flash coding in future websites.
Oh Hai There,

Wow, I have some catching up to do with you guys.

Since my last post there has been a lot going on in college. Assignments due one week after the other, so hectic !

I am enjoying it so its not all bad. I finished my Digital Media assignment which was to design a cover for a game or CD. I chose a game because me and a couple of my friends are actually designing a game. Here is some pictures of the product so far:

I have been really active on my Twitter account so if you guys want to keep up with me on a daily basis please follow me @TheLickApparel and on Facebook /LickApparel.

Talk to you guys later on today.

So yeah, back to the topic, I am excited. I just got my new hp laser-jet printer. I know a lot of you will be like 'so what?' but this is so helpful for me as a student. I can now organize college stuff so much easier and know i will have all my work done and up to date so i can chill and watch t.v in the evenings. :) Oh and I also am going to be printing t-shirts soon so having a laser-jet printer helps when printing out acetates (special paper for stencil designs) I am so excited for that.

I have another nice update, assignments. Some people aren't too fond of assignments but i love them, partially because i suck at written exams. :P But I have an assignment on The Renaissance ! How cool, i love this part of history. All the corruptions, secrets behind closed doors, developments in all sorts of arts from; sculpting, painting, architecture and weapon development. It is so amazing to see the techniques that were used back then and all the different ways people lived. The culture, the life, the law system. I'm getting excited even talking about it. Anyways i am in the middle of my research so i will update you guys as soon as i am finished it all. :)

Till next time my loyal followers.

Oh Hai There.

Welcome to my Blog people of the internet! My name is Mark Fox.

I am a pretty laid back graphic design student with a great sense of humour. I have a passion for design and always have had since I was a young boy. I am currently in my first year of Graphic Design in BIFE and absolutely loving it. I couldn’t have chosen a better place to go, the people, the teachers; the feel to life here is what gets me up in the morning!

My Blog will be dedicated to my life as a graphic design student in Dublin, Ireland 2012 coming up in the graphic design industry. Take this journey with me by clicking the ‘Follow’ button. Who knows what will happen right around the corner?

So what’s going on in my life right now? Well I have finished the first semester and the first lot of assignments. I really did enjoy working on them; it is such an amazing thing to learn about the origins of graphic design and understand how to develop it and help it grow in our generation.

I can't wait to share my experience with you guys as i give you weekly updates on how I am getting on.

Talk to you all soon.
